NORA's Grant Provider Goal
NORA's goal is to provide grant funds to those who historically, have not been able to get grants from traditional sources due to lack of knowledge, lack of access, or other structural barriers. Funding is crucial to addressing Social Determinants of Health in African American communities in Hampton Roads. Thus, Sentara Healthcare under the leadership of their new President and CEO, Dennis Matheis has agreed to contribute $475,000 to NORA.
NORA as a grant maker acts as an intermediary between resource providers and recipients throughout underserved and underrepresented Hamptons Roads' neighborhoods and grassroots communities!
Social Determinants of Health
Conditions in the places where people live, learn, work, and play that affect a wide range of health and quality-of life-risks and outcomes.
